Ingredients

1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter
Pinch Salt
6 to 7 Apples (Granny Smith or Cortland)
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
3/4 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Dried Tart Cherries
1/4 Cup Cherry Preserves
2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
1 Tablespoon Butter -- for pan

Preparation

1. Mix cinnamon, sugar, dried cherries, cherry preserves, and cornstarch together and set aside.

2. Butter an 8x8 inch pan. Peel and slice apples thickly (enough to fill pan). Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture.

3. Mix together flour, sugar, butter, and salt until it is pie dough consistency. Break off chunks and flatten with fingers. Spread over apples unevenly and bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.
