Ingredients

 

3 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Unsalted Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Chanukah cookie cutters
Decorations such as sprinkles, gel,icing, baking crystals, etc

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Line sheet pan or cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2. Allow butter/margarine to soften almost to room temperature.

3. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.

4. In bowl or electric mixer, beat butter/margarine at medium speed. Add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy.

5. Add egg and vanilla and mix.

6. Add flour mixture gradually, blending in at medium speed until dough is smooth. Scrape down bowl as needed.

7. Turn dough out onto wax paper or plastic wrap that has been dusted lightly with flour. Flatten into a disk, dust top lightly with flour, wrap and chill.

8. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. If using sprinkles or crystals, decorate cookies. Transfer to parchment lined sheet pan or cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer to wire rack; once cool, decorate.
