How to Store Fresh Produce

Strawberries: Fresh strawberries are only available for a limited time during peak season. To keep them fresh, simply wash, remove the stems, then slice and freeze on a baking sheet until solid. Transfer to an airtight plastic bag once frozen.

Red, Yellow and Orange Peppers: Place in a plastic bag and refrigerate for up to 4 days. To freeze, cut the peppers into cubes, spread on a baking sheet, freeze until firm, then transfer to a plastic bag and store in the freezer.

Cherries: Refrigerate for up to 5 days and wash just before eating. For longer storage, arrange on a baking sheet, freeze until solid, then transfer to a plastic bag and store in the freezer.

Peaches: Store on the counter, stem down until ripe. Once they are nice and firm, refrigerate for up to 7 days.
