Three Grain Pilaf

Ingredients

 

1 Cup white basmati rice
1/2 Cup millet
1/2 Cup quinoa
1/2 Cup scallions (white and tender part only) -- minced
2 Tablespoons oil or Kings Organic Butter
3/4 Teaspoon sea salt
3 Cups water or stock

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Warm the oil or butter over moderate heat. Add the scallion and sauté 2 to 3 minutes. Add the grains and continue to sauté, stirring for 3 minutes longer or until the grains are fragrant.

2. Add the water or broth and salt. Raise the heat and bring to a boil. Cover the pan and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

3. Remove the pilaf from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.
