Cedar Plank Smoked Salmon With Dill Sauce

Ingredients

For the Dill Sauce:

2/3 cup mayonnaise

2/3 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons scallions, chopped

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped 

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

Salt and pepper

For the Salmon:

1-2 cedar grilling planks

3 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 tablespoon orange juice

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Salt and pepper

4 slices of Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, 4-6 ounces each 

Directions

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. 

For the sauce, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, scallion, parsley, dill and mustard. Season with salt and pepper, cover and chill until serving. Cover the cedar planks with water and soak for at least one hour. 

For marinade, combine the mustard, maple syrup, orange juice, vinegar and season with salt and pepper in a food safe plastic bag. Add the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon slices and marinate for 25-30 minutes. 

Place the wet planks on the grill, cover and heat until lightly smoking. Place the salmon fillets on the plank, skin side down. Cover and cook until fish is done, about 10-15 minutes. Serve straight from the plank alongside the dill sauce.
