What is a Benefit card?

Your Benefit card puts money in your pocket to shop for eligible  products. 

Benefit cards are pre-loaded by employers, local programs and major health plans (including Medicare and Medicaid) with funds to spend on approved items.  

Your unused balance may expire or rollover. Know when it does so you can spend every dollar, every time. Check with your health plan or call the number on the back of your card to see if or when unused funds expire.  

Who is eligible for a Benefit card? 

If you're enrolled in a  plan that offers supplemental over-the-counter (OTC) or grocery benefits, you're eligible.

Where can I use my Benefit card?

You can use your Benefit card at any [BANNER] store.  Right now, you can use your Benefit card in-store. Soon you’ll be able to use it online, too. 

What is covered by a Benefit card?

Eligible items vary from health plan to health plan. Many Benefit cards cover groceries like fresh produce. Often over-the-counter medicines plus wellness products like vitamins and supplements are covered, too.

Not all plans cover the same items. See what is available to you.

How can I use my Benefit card?

You can swipe most Benefit cards like a charge card. If your Benefit card has a barcode the cashier will it scan like a coupon 

Cards from some payment providers, like S3 Network, have both a magnetic strip and a barcode. 

Can I use an EBT (SNAP or WIC) card with my Benefit card?

Yes! You can use your EBT (SNAP or WIC) card with your Benefit card at Kings Food Markets stores. 

At checkout, use your EBT card first. Then swipe or scan your Benefit card.

What is my Benefit card balance? 

Ask for your balance by calling your health plan or the number on your card. 

Be sure to ask when your benefits expire or rollover -- monthly, quarterly or annually – so you use every dollar.

What’s a payment provider?

Your payment provider is the entity that manages Benefit card funds for your health plan or program. Look for their logo on your card.
